GURNEMANZ 1972 - 1979

GURNEMANZ est un groupe de folk progressif originaire de Bergheim , à l’Est d’Aix La Chapelle en Rhénanie qui s’est formé en mai 1972.

Ils commencèrent comme une troupe de folk acoustique avec John CREMER ( autoharpe) , Lukas Wolfgang SCHEEL( guitare, chant, mandoline, banjo, luth), Manuela SCHMITZ( chant,percussions, flûte à bec, kazoo), Siegfried BUSHUVEN( contrebasse, lyre, kazoo) et Wolfgang RIEDEL( guitare, chant, percussions, harmonica, bouzouki).

Parfois, ils étaient rejoints par Georg «  Köbi » KOBERLEIN au piano électrique et Bernie SCHACHT aux percussions.

UNE AUTOHARPE

Ils publièrent trois albums en 1972, 1975 et 1977, tous les trois sur le label Electra.

 Le groupe était adroit en jouant un certain nombre d’instruments pour compléter le son tels que les flûtes, l’harmonica, le luth, la lyre, la mandoline et le kazoo.

Ils chantaient principalement en anglais , bien qu’incorporant l’allemand de temps en temps.

Leur style de musique pourrait être comparé  au frolk traditionnel des troubadours bien que » « No Rays Of Noise » ait une approche plus progressive.

En 1979, GURNEMANZ avait prévu de sortir «  Blue Moon » mais cela ne se produira pas, bien que certaines versions live des morceaux existent.
